Dr. Jonathan Ebele Goodluck
President of Nigeria
We are calling on community of nations from the free world, America, United Kingdom, Germany, Israel and all the Western nations. We are also calling on Russia, China, India, African nations and the world to demand that the constituion of Nigeria regarding the office of the Presidency be implemented with out delay.
For over 37 days now the president of Nigeria; Yar'Adua, has not been seen nor any credible message been relayed to the Nigerian people by him. We have been informed of his ill health of which our prayer goes to him and his family. The whole world should know that there is a vacuum in leadership in Nigeria right now because of the absence of the President and the Attorney general's position will be vacant from 1st January 2010. Nobody should be in doubt that this situation is dangerous for geo-political security of West Africa and the world.
The attempted bombing of Delta Airlines by a Nigerian Al-Qaeda terrorist are all signs of ineffective leadership and volatility in Nigeria at the present time.
This press Release should be seen as an affirmation of the unity of the Igbo, Ibibio, Ijaw, Ogoni, Efik nationalities of Eastern Nigeria. We as a people are solidly behind the Vice President Jonathan Goodluck to exercise his Constitutional right within the Nigerian Federation to become the President of Nigeria in the continued absence of President Yar'Adua.
Any leader from the Eastern region who is not of this opinion has the freedom to put out a disclaimer. We are also calling upon all Christians and Muslims who are against terrorism to support Goodluck as the new President of Nigeria.
Maintaining the peace and stability of the West African region should be the primary objective of all our people.
Doctor Jonathan Goodluck our people are behind you, the Good Shepherds Movement and New Southern Generation have begun calling for national and international support for your Presidency. Our organisation in the region will commence a mass rally to support your Presidency when deemed necessary.
To all people of good will who believe in the principle of democracy we cannot surrender our democratic right to anyone or group of people who might attempt to manipulate the collective right of our people for justice.

Obama is no Messiah
Those of you who have been following the activities of the Good Shepherds Movement (GSM) and the Try Peace Campaign will be fully aware that we have registered with Black Planet and over 18 months ago we made friends with President Barack Hussein Obama. We did not do this because he is a Christian, Muslim, Jewish, black, mixed race or white. We did this because we saw Obama as an articulated, disciplined and charismatic man with a drive to do what is just both within the United States of America (USA) and the world.
Fortunately, for African-Americans who have suffered slavery, political disenfranchisement and all forms of social humiliation as well as their distant relatives in Africa have suffered colonialism and all forms pf dictatorship and tyranny it was an honour to have a President of the USA to arise from their own stock. This has made it very clear that there is hope to stop man's inhumanity to man and that people cannot only be judged by the colour of their skin but they can be measure by their cognition and intellectual power, that can be used for the good of all mankind.
While we remain friends of Obama, as well as a strong pro-Israeli movement we need to bring a statement to the boardroom of discussion throughout the world, it is not our wish to link the Israeli-Palestine conflict or Arab-Israeli conflict to the Biafran-Nigerian conflict nor South Sudanese – Arab Sudanese conflict, nor the conflict within Democratic Republic of Congo but unfortunately we have to, because all these conflicts have a similarity n certain factors that have precipitated these conflicts.
Some of these factors are rooted in history, some of them arise from those powers who have changed the order and map of the world.
Some of them are resulting from tyranny of those governing these territories.
Some from deliberate misinformation and hiding of the truth by successive powers of the world.
But what all these conflicts have in common is that they keep the lives of millions of innocent people miserable and at all times in a state of enslaved war.
The worlds media appear to be a factor in orchestrating the deep rooted hatred among people. Hatred that results from the twisting of the truth. We are sure that it is written in the Bible as well as the Torah and in some other Holy Books that Israel is the ancient homeland of the Jewish people. We are also aware that the Jews have suffered for centuries among many nations. Therefore, the Jews do not need to be educated on what suffering means.
We as the GSM and Try Peace Campaign have called for a Palestinian state and will continue to call for it. Believing sincerely that if the Palestinian people can accept the legitimate right of Israel to exist we have no doubt that Israel will use its technological, economic and military parity to develop the Palestinian territory, like Israel has done itself, during the last 60 years, within its own territory.
We are sure that Israel will make Gaza and West Bank a viable democratic state within Israel which will be a self - governing autonomy and an envy of the world. Israel will surely protect this state from any military attack.
The idea that the state of Israel will establish a sovereign Palestinian state inside Israel or parallel to Israel will remain a bone of contention in the Israeli- Palestinian conflict.Let us at this juncture evaluate what a sovereignty would lead to; Two separate military authorities and powers. Two separate states that have not agreed to live together opposing military blocks, one from the west and one from the east. We cannot see how a scenario like this can give peace to the Palestinians, Israelis or the world at large. This idea alone will make the United Nations, the Obama legacy, the Arab league, the USA, and the Western powers a laughing stock for generations to come.
For centuries an unjust political order has been imposed on the African continent which has resulted in continuous military turmoil and conflict, famine and wars, and under-development. Ethnic rivalries are endemic within the continent. Nations that have never shared a similar language, culture, history and ideas are forced into one country resulting in wars that have killed millions of innocent people.
Is this not the reason why the Biafran war was fought?
Is this not the reason why the Sudanese conflict remains ongoing?
Is this not the reason behind the Eritrean - Ethiopian conflict?
Is this not the reason for the Hutu and Tutsi genocide in Rwanda?
It is an unfair scenario that the West that advocates human rights denied 40 million Biafrans an independent state in their own homeland. The Arab's campaigning for a sovereign independent Palestine are seeing the slaughter of Black Africans in Sudan and they are denying them independence. Now we have Barack Obama appearing to be running an 'arm-twisting' Middle Eastern political agenda against Israel by calling for a sovereign Palestinian state within Israel. Making it difficult for the Palestinian and Israeli governments to consider the most viable option for peace.
We feel that the first thing that needs to be done is for the Americans to help the Palestinian people to develop an industrialised society with functional institutions of government and Rule of Law as a nation rather than focusing their mind on immediate sovereignty that could only exacerbate two sovereignties competing for the same land in a military conflict.
Those of us who believe that terrorism and war is not the answer, but a negotiated settlement on how two societies can share a very small portion of land ad successfully create a vibrant economy as Israel has already proved.
Obama should look into redressing a far more unjust situation in Africa which has seen the death of millions of people by wars and disease, terrible economic exploitation of the African continent than being driven by the fear of terrorism and the media (the views of which are not to the slightest degree a true representation of the views of millions of people throughout the world, as the media is run by but a few people) to a narrow view of the conflict in the Middle East.
Finally, we would like to ask who decides the criteria for establishing a sovereign independent state? And what is the criteria ? What reference or evidence in international law is there, that can prove that there was once an independent Palestinian state, which Israel has harnessed, that they have to re-establish within their territory.
Ref: Jerusalem Post Article
We will bring to your attention that the Biafran people after years of slavery, were forced into an amalgamation in 1914 without plebiscite, referendum nor treaty signed by any of their native people into a country called Nigeria and it still stands till today. A war was fought where Biafrans lost millions of people, only Israel and a few other countries stood for justice for the Biafran people. We have no doubt in our minds that the state of Israel will do justice to the Arab people in Israel today who are called Palestinians.

Try Peace Campaign Speech on 14th January 2009 at Israeli Embassy London
My brothers and sisters, friends of Israel and friends of Palestine.
Sowers of the seeds of peace and shepherds of peace. Your presence here today is a loud and vocal echo of the voice of peace. Sons, daughters and friends of Israel from every nation, creed, colour and culture have come here today to say ‘‘let there be Peace''. Those of us who are an independent voice in this conflict can observe with sadness unjust media manipulations in this conflict. Unbalanced reporting by several media houses have solely contributed to the exacerbation of this conflict. All the anti-Israeli protests covered by the mass media have tried to drown the voice of peace, they have tried to create mass hysteria, mass xenophobia and mass anti-Semitism in their style of reporting and what they report. The distinct lack of many news reports about pro-Israeli rallies confirms this opinion. All of which is targeted to precipitate a new generation of suicide bombers, terrorism, all of which is to deny the Israelis, the Jews, Palestinians, Christians and Muslims Peace in Gaza -Palestine and Israel.
My good friends, for the fact that we stand here today shows the world that they have failed. Enemies of peace have failed once again. Terror has failed again and again. Terrorists have never won a war in the history of humanity. Extermination of Jews cannot be the final solution. Peace would always be the final solution and winner of stability in the world. Both in Israel and Palestine there are men, women and children who are craving for peace. There are honourable men like Abie Nathan, who once told me that for peace to exist there must be diplomacy. Therefore, peace does not come from rockets, no instrument of terror no matter the range can rocket peace to people. We should not forget Yitschak Rabin gave his life trying for peace. We should not forget that Israel pulled out of Gaza unilaterally because of the desire for peace. We should not forget that Arafat gave up militancy because of peace. We should not forget that the road map is created in search of peace. My good friends here today, my assessment of the Israeli-Palestinian roadmap for peace is simple. The road has been laid with Hamas suicide bombers and daily rocket attacks.
There are now many armed robbers on the road mapped for peace. Because the road is now laid with a dangerous snare no-one who sees the face of terror remains alive to tell the tale. Because of terror the moderate voice of peace in Gaza was flushed out in full witness of those who are now pro-Hamas protestors today. Palestinians were forced to kill their own flesh and blood for power. We join Israeli and Palestinian men and women of peace today to say NO to terror. Israel as a credible democracy has the right to openly defend herself from terror to enable the creation of an environment where peace can reign once again between Israelis and Palestinians. Unfortunately this cancer of terror cannot easily be surgically removed. This terror machine has embedded itself in a civilian population. As Israel engages on this difficult task again on its own the world stood by as they did in Biafra, even though many have witnessed a glimpse of the force of terror in New York, London, Bali, Kenya, Biafra and Egypt, just to mention a few.
We are all empathetic to the loss of lives in Israel and Palestine, in this campaign to restore peace for the Israelis and Palestinians. My heart and I am sure yours as well, goes to all the ordinary people who are caught up in this dreadful conflict. Terror has robbed Israelis and Palestinians, especially the Gazans their right for peace. Terror has inflicted a terrible scourge to the road mapped for peace. Terror has destroyed growing safety on the road and has damaged the confidence of the moderates seeking peace. At this point, the Biafran people, friends of Israel and the voice of peace are calling on the Israeli government, the Israeli people, Palestinian authority and the Palestinian people to repair the road mapped for peace. I have a vision for the Israelis and Palestinians in this conflict.
The Israeli people and their friends, and the Palestinian people and their friends should create an environment of mutual trust. To enable this environment the world community including those who have gained television contracts and have profited from charities that have resulted from this conflict. While Israeli and Palestinian people are dying, these television channels and charities should work together as part of the world community to plant the tree of peace for Israel and Palestine. We should all help them to water these trees of life.
These trees maybe attacked by pests and bacteria, or hate and terror, but we would cure it together provided we continue to water it with the right, medicine and water. As the trees grow they will have seeds and multiply, nurturing the tree of peace will produce a viable Palestinian state and Israel that is safe and secure. Together we can put the enemies of Israel to shame.
Palestine and Israel can live side by side, Jordan and Egypt have done it. Palestinian people can do it too. I have a vision of industrialised Palestine growing side by side with democratic and prosperous Israel. My good friends join me today to water the first trees of peace for Israel and Palestine. In this gesture you have isolated terror and rejected hatred. In so doing you have tried for peace.
May peace reign in Israel. May peace reign in Palestine.

Dear Friends,
We were happy to see many of you in the Peace Rally organised by the Board of Deputies at Trafalgar Square on 11th January 2009.
The Good Shepherds Movement were there with a 25 - strong team of Biafrans. The event was orderly, dignified and delivered the message of peace in many ways.
We will appeal that those organising a protest in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict should take a leaf from the event yesterday. The voice of peace for both Palestinians and Israelis should be heard. We are calling out ''Let there be Peace''.
Peace can be achieved if everyone contributes to nurture an environment and atmosphere of peace, instead of shouting or making rhetoric that poisons the mind of men and women striving to promote peace.
We remain grateful for the appreciation shown to us the Biafran group in the rally. We will continue to work and campaign for Peace between Israel and Palestine, while we remain independent but steadfastly friends of Israel.
May we take this opportunity to appeal to you friends for support
and to attend the

Open letter to the Arab League
OPEN LETTER TO THE SECRETARY - GENERAL OF THE LEAGUE OF ARAB NATIONS AMR MOUSSA
C/O The Ambassador of The Arab Republic of Egypt26 South StreetLondon,W1K 1DW.Dear Ambassador,
We the coalition of people who want to speak out for Peace as a Voice of Reason, wish to call on all honest people and those who love peace to stand up and condemn Hamas and its allies for resuming rocket attacks after a period of agreed ceasefire with the State of Israel. Nobody wishes to see the Palestinian population subjected to the same blockade to which the Nigerian Government and its Allies subjected Biafra to between 1967-1970. We all know what happened to the lives of millions of the Biafran people. We feel that continued broadcasting of pro-Hamas protests by the media is irrational, biased against Israel, dangerous to the welfare of ordinary Palestinian people whom Hamas is hiding behind to carry out a proxy war for the enemies of Israel.
In our opinion, those who are joining pro-Hamas protests are enemies of the Palestinian people joining a misguided protest is condoning and partaking in the actions of an organisation that should be encouraged to seek peace not war. Peace between Israel and Palestine should be the motive of any progressive protester and activist. We are dismayed by the indifference and unjust posture of the world community in the Palestinian and Israeli conflict as they were during the Biafran-Nigerian conflict of 1967-1970.
The State of Israel has shown restraint, humility and understanding of the plight of ordinary Palestinian people even when faced with the daily rocket attacks. If the world has forgotten, may we remind the world community that the Nigerian blockade of Biafra for 3 years starved to death 2 million civilians while Biafrans where also bombed by Egyptian and Russian aircraft, leading to the deaths of thousands of women and children being killed in market squares, churches and their homes. We remain empathetic to the suffering of both Palestinian and Israeli civilians who have been caught up in this conflict. But we would appeal through the Arab league, the Palestinian people and the Palestinian authorities to make peace with Israel and publicly distance themselves, physically, politically and socially from Hamas militant activities. The rational world should come out and condemn unequivocally Hamas provocation of Israel and their determined posture to attack the Israeli civilian population. We can no longer hide from the fact that no government in the world would fold their hands while being subjected to terrorist intimidation and threats by rocket attack. To prevent further loss of lives on both sides of the conflict we are appealing to Hamas to cease attacking Israel and follow the example of Egypt and Jordan to sign a Peace Treaty with Israel. Only a peaceful environment will produce a progressive and viable Palestinian state. The example shown by Egypt and Jordan is sustainable evidence to demonstrate that Israel wants peace with its neighbours and Israel can maintain agreed Peace Treaties.
Finally, the Good Shepherds Movement and the Biafran Community in the United Kingdom is calling on the Arab league and those who want peace for the Palestinian people and State of Israel to put pressure on Hamas to stop all militant action and give peace a chance.
Thank you,
