Try Peace Campaign Speech on 14th January 2009 at Israeli Embassy London

My brothers and sisters, friends of Israel and friends of Palestine.

Sowers of the seeds of peace and shepherds of peace. Your presence here today is a loud and vocal echo of the voice of peace. Sons, daughters and friends of Israel from every nation, creed, colour and culture have come here today to say ‘‘let there be Peace''. Those of us who are an independent voice in this conflict can observe with sadness unjust media manipulations in this conflict. Unbalanced reporting by several media houses have solely contributed to the exacerbation of this conflict. All the anti-Israeli protests covered by the mass media have tried to drown the voice of peace, they have tried to create mass hysteria, mass xenophobia and mass anti-Semitism in their style of reporting and what they report. The distinct lack of many news reports about pro-Israeli rallies confirms this opinion. All of which is targeted to precipitate a new generation of suicide bombers, terrorism, all of which is to deny the Israelis, the Jews, Palestinians, Christians and Muslims Peace in Gaza -Palestine and Israel.

My good friends, for the fact that we stand here today shows the world that they have failed. Enemies of peace have failed once again. Terror has failed again and again. Terrorists have never won a war in the history of humanity. Extermination of Jews cannot be the final solution. Peace would always be the final solution and winner of stability in the world. Both in Israel and Palestine there are men, women and children who are craving for peace. There are honourable men like Abie Nathan, who once told me that for peace to exist there must be diplomacy. Therefore, peace does not come from rockets, no instrument of terror no matter the range can rocket peace to people. We should not forget Yitschak Rabin gave his life trying for peace. We should not forget that Israel pulled out of Gaza unilaterally because of the desire for peace. We should not forget that Arafat gave up militancy because of peace. We should not forget that the road map is created in search of peace. My good friends here today, my assessment of the Israeli-Palestinian roadmap for peace is simple. The road has been laid with Hamas suicide bombers and daily rocket attacks.

There are now many armed robbers on the road mapped for peace. Because the road is now laid with a dangerous snare no-one who sees the face of terror remains alive to tell the tale. Because of terror the moderate voice of peace in Gaza was flushed out in full witness of those who are now pro-Hamas protestors today. Palestinians were forced to kill their own flesh and blood for power. We join Israeli and Palestinian men and women of peace today to say NO to terror. Israel as a credible democracy has the right to openly defend herself from terror to enable the creation of an environment where peace can reign once again between Israelis and Palestinians. Unfortunately this cancer of terror cannot easily be surgically removed. This terror machine has embedded itself in a civilian population. As Israel engages on this difficult task again on its own the world stood by as they did in Biafra, even though many have witnessed a glimpse of the force of terror in New York, London, Bali, Kenya, Biafra and Egypt, just to mention a few.

We are all empathetic to the loss of lives in Israel and Palestine, in this campaign to restore peace for the Israelis and Palestinians. My heart and I am sure yours as well, goes to all the ordinary people who are caught up in this dreadful conflict. Terror has robbed Israelis and Palestinians, especially the Gazans their right for peace. Terror has inflicted a terrible scourge to the road mapped for peace. Terror has destroyed growing safety on the road and has damaged the confidence of the moderates seeking peace. At this point, the Biafran people, friends of Israel and the voice of peace are calling on the Israeli government, the Israeli people, Palestinian authority and the Palestinian people to repair the road mapped for peace. I have a vision for the Israelis and Palestinians in this conflict.

The Israeli people and their friends, and the Palestinian people and their friends should create an environment of mutual trust. To enable this environment the world community including those who have gained television contracts and have profited from charities that have resulted from this conflict. While Israeli and Palestinian people are dying, these television channels and charities should work together as part of the world community to plant the tree of peace for Israel and Palestine. We should all help them to water these trees of life.

These trees maybe attacked by pests and bacteria, or hate and terror, but we would cure it together provided we continue to water it with the right, medicine and water. As the trees grow they will have seeds and multiply, nurturing the tree of peace will produce a viable Palestinian state and Israel that is safe and secure. Together we can put the enemies of Israel to shame.

Palestine and Israel can live side by side, Jordan and Egypt have done it. Palestinian people can do it too. I have a vision of industrialised Palestine growing side by side with democratic and prosperous Israel. My good friends join me today to water the first trees of peace for Israel and Palestine. In this gesture you have isolated terror and rejected hatred. In so doing you have tried for peace.

May peace reign in Israel. May peace reign in Palestine.
